What are the people in Dublin thinking of right now?

This video was created by Dan Dalton as part of the Canon Freecording Contest.

This is a great experiment and gives interesting insights into people’s thoughts/dreams/worries in Dublin, right now.

A bit like Chinese Whispers, but it’s “Dublin Questions” instead…!

What do you think is the most interesting part of this experiment?

Entrepreneurs can change the world

Do online ads build brand engagement?

This valuable study, conducted in partnership with Carat Insight, examines the role of the internet in generating brand engagement.

The research concentrated on five advertising campaigns from the supermini car sector - Renault Clio, Toyota Aygo, Nissan Micra, Ford Fiesta and Mini - and looked into the effectiveness of online against other media, as well as wider influences like brand ownership, reading reviews, or recommendations from friends.

What is happening on April 30th at 4pm?

I came across this video on Twitter and then I checked their You Tube channel.

Maybe it is just me, but is the “call to action” on this strong enough? If you saw this video would you be tempted to investigate more?

Let me know what you think, thanks!

Susan Boyle’s YouTube success - Why did the video ‘go viral’?

On the 11th of April 2009, Susan Boyle appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables - and she completely blew the audience and judges out of the water with her performance!

Susan has got talent and a great personality but why was she an instant YouTube success? I believe that one of the reasons is that she over-exceeded customer expectations. If your business can learn from her overnight success I think that it would be 1. have a fantastic product, 2. over-exceed customer expectations (this will not be possible to do, all the time!) 3. Have a great story about the company (get your customers to warm to your ‘brand’ so that they will go out of their way to share your story with others).

Susan Doyle proved that it is possible to get over 30million YouTube “hits” in less than seven days!

Something to think about is: What can you do in your organisation to create and market a story that resonates with your customers?

Question for you: Why do you think that Susan Boyle has been an instant success?

Is this the strangest ‘viral video’ you have ever seen?

If you were asked to market a professional association that is kind of like the “Quality Mark” for businesses, would you think of creating a video like this!? This video is for Goodbiz.ie - their aim is to promote good business practices among their members.

This video caught my eye on the Irish Times blog and I still haven’t forgotten about it! (That is good, right!?)

Harvard Video: How to Market in a Recession

Great Video from Harvard Business School.

An interview with John Quelch, Professor, Harvard Business School. In a tough economy, companies can succeed if they understand their customers’ evolving consumption patterns and fine-tune their marketing strategies accordingly.

Episode II: 121 Marketing interviews SBM from Coca Cola

This video is part two of the interview between 121 Marketing (Karina Heavey) and Aengus King, Senior Brand Manager of Powerade and Sprite at Coca Cola Ireland. In this episode Aengus talks the recent campaigns that he has worked on: http://www.bebo.com/sprite and http://www.nevergiveup.ie/ We talk about the origin of “JD Quench” who is featured in the Sprite campaign and how to measure the success of the Bebo page.

Episode III is coming soon ….. (keep watching!)

Check out the new Sprite ad that was developed by McCann-Erickson

I think its pretty cool, what do you think!?
